House of the Frati Minori O.F.M. entrusted to Punti di Vista
A great location and plenty of history are on offer at this retreat near the serene Lake Bolsena.The main attraction of the city is Lake Bolsena, over 113 square kilometres in area and with two islands (Isola Martana and Isola Bisentina).
The lake is bordered by Via Cassia, making access to all lakeside attractions easy by car. Attractions include other towns on the lake, such as Montefiascone, Marta and Gradoli.

The structure dates back to the 17th century, originally as a convent for Franciscan Friars.The guest house has accepted tourists since 1997, guests rooms are renovated versions of the original friars quarters from hundreds of years ago.

It was a privilege to stay in this ancient monastery with its rich history and beautiful gardens. Although the Friars have long gone it is trying to remain true to their spirit by serving the community as an NGO. It is run by volunteers and so visitors should not expect the same standards as a fully resourced commercial operation. The monastery is a ten minute walk, uphill, from Bolsena's great Basilica of St Christina so it is convenient for morning Mass and exploring the Basilica's catacombs and relics of its famous Eucharistic Miracle |
