Ashely - KY, United States (May 2024)
again a perfect place to stay and explore Florence. Very Clean, pleasant and comfortable. near to good eating places. Led to a wonderful experience of Florence.
I had never been there before and found location so convenient.
Sr. - CO KILDARE, Ireland (September 2023)
The sisters were very sweet, and the accommodations were clean and welcoming. I'd gladly stay there again. :-)
Veronica - NJ, United States (October 2022)
The sisters are amazing. They go to the extra mile.
Fr. - NSW, Australia (September 2022)
The sisters are very kind and generous; I appreciated seeing their way of life and feeling a part of the monastery. They allowed me to stay in the common areas after check out while I waited for my train. Room was clean and simple with AC and blackout shades. There are many common areas guests can access including the garden and roof terrace. Breakfast was typical pastry/bread, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee/tea, yogurt. Location is in a quiet neighborhood with many amenities and about 20 min walk to most sites.
Caitlin - IN, United States (July 2022)
The sisters were so welcoming and friendly. They were ready to answer any questions and were helpful going in and out everyday. Great stay! Super clean as well!
Matt - MN, United States (July 2022)
Very clean, good breakfast, a bit far from the city center but manageable by foot if you cannot find how to buy a bus ticket like us. Very friendly hosts, ready to help and adapt to your needs.
Elona - BY, Germany (June 2022)
We came in our own car (not a rental) and were very happy to be able to park it just below our window, securely inside the gate. That was a great advantage. We also loved waking up to the voices of the sisters singing at early Mass.
Diane - , Italy (April 2022)
The sisters are so sweet and welcoming. The location is a little bit out of the way when traveling everywhere on foot as one does in Florence but I liked it still. Good value. Book your train tickets into and out of Firenze Campo di Marte Station if possible if you are staying here as it's much closer than Santa Maria Novella.
Evelyn - NJ, United States (August 2019)
What a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable place to stay. The Sisters are so lovely and inviting.
Michelle - British Columbia, Canada (August 2019)
The sisters were wonderful! We enjoyed our visit. The courtyard was a nice place to relax and to use the WiFi. So nice to have Mass in a chapel in our building. The sisters singing was so very beautiful!
Janet - KY, United States (June 2019)
I was very satisfied and felt safe.
Annie - IN, United States (May 2019)
A warm, kind and welcoming place to stay.
M.E. - , Netherlands (April 2019)
I would rate cleanliness 20 if that were an option. Waking up at 6:30 to nuns singing was wonderful. 2 blocks to public bus made it very convenient, plus we could walk, but often were tired by the end of the day. Only problem was only one of the nuns spoke much English, and our Italian was none. The one who spoke English was there in the evening, so we would get our information then. We would definitely stay here again.
Mary Pamela - FL, United States (October 2018)
Really enjoyed the stay. Very courteous staff personnel.Location is a little outside the city center but very nice, still close by to a few places of interest and all within walking distance.
David - TX, United States (July 2018)
The staff and nuns were friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and breakfast was very good. We had brought a group and needed 12 rooms. This monastery was just what we needed.
Laurie - GA, United States (July 2018)
Very good breakfast, they changed kindly to an earlier time for our large group.
Jennifer - GA, USA (June 2018)
The sisters provided an excellent place to stay: warm, welcoming and spotless. Unfortunately, at night many guests did not follow the rules about being in their rooms at a reasonable time and quiet. Each night we had lots of disturbances with people coming home late, showers around midnight, etc, making it hard to sleep. Also, a toaster would be good at breakfast time for guests to toast their bread.
Jane - VIC, Australia (June 2018)
The sisters were just delightful. The entire monastery was spotless and the breakfast was very nice.
Location was perfect. Neighborhood was very safe
Cynthia - PA, United States (May 2018)
We had a wonderful stay there!
Anderson - RJ, Brazil (March 2018)
The staff and community were extremely hospitable. The atmosphere was one of welcome. Everyone was most obliging and very helpful in responding to queries of all kinds. We would highly recommend this accommodation for any tourist, young or old to the great city of Florence. We deeply appreciate all that was done for us during our stay and would love to return at some future date.
Deirdre - CO DUBLIN, Ireland (July 2017)
Very clean and silence. Sisters and staff are very helpful and friendly.
Kin - NEW TERRITORIES, Hong Kong (July 2017)
The nuns were very friendly.
Jean - British Columbia, Canada (June 2017)
A lovely tranquil setting with everything we needed. The sisters were friendly and helpful. Hearing their unaccompanied singing while I took an early morning shower was an unexpected delight. The breakfast had been described as 'basic' but it is so much more than that with a good selection to help yourself from. For me, the fresh fruit was a particular favorite.
It's a fair walk to the city centre (usually in 32 degrees during our stay) but walk we did, varying our route to find shade and to explore new districts.
Phil - Middlesex, United Kingdom (June 2017)
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and several of our 19 students mentioned that this was their favorite accommodation of our entire time in Italy. The sisters were lovely, very kind and helpful, and the students, while initially a little nervous about staying in a convent, have spoken very positively about the experience. I have not heard any negative comments, and a number even mentioned the good quality of the wifi. We would definitely consider staying there again, in the future.
Janinah Jansen - BC, Canada (May 2017)
Very convenient. Very clean. The Sisters were extremely helpful!
Denise - OH, United States (October 2016)
The breakfast was disappointing. The rooms were full of mosquitoes.
Daniel Hafner c/o Lauren Montgomery - WA, USA (August 2016)
The sisters were kind and accommodating.
Lauren - WA, USA (August 2016)
Wonderful stay. Sisters helpful. Number 6A and 6B bus close and took us into the city. Lovely to have Mass each day. Room clean and well serviced. Good to get breakfast included. Perfect stay.
Leonie M - New South Wales, Australia (May 2016)
Sisters are friendly and very accommodating to our schedule in terms of letting us to have our breakfast earlier than their regular time.
Daisy - Ontario, Canada (May 2016)
Excellent
Cathryn - , Switzerland (October 2015)
Nice place to stay. It is a short walk from train station and only 5-8 min by train to get to the heart of Florence. There is also bus, but it is not as reliable as a train. There is a vending machine which was great to get some water after a long day in town. The personal is friendly. Room was clean. Thanks
Nataliya - CA, United States (October 2015)
Friendly and very clean accommodation. The single room with ensuite was comfortable. The breakfast was simple but plentiful. About 15 minutes walk to Piazza Duomo and another 10 to the train station.
Alexandra - New South Wales, Australia (September 2015)
I'd definitely stay here again. I loved the singing of the nuns in the mornings. I also really loved the room!
Takara - Bahamas, Bahamas (March 2015)
Excellent the nuns were very helpful.
Phillip - Victoria, Australia (October 2014)
A very pleasurable stay in Florence. The nuns are very helpful and friendly and the accommodation spotless and tranquil.
Jenny - , United Kingdom (October 2014)
The Sisters are very kind and the guests are well taken care of. The house is tastefully decorated and the rooms are air-conditioned, which is of value in warm weather. It is also in a quiet location, but the main attractions are within easy walking distance. Besides there is a direct bus to and from the main train station.
Aline - Hertfordshire, United Kingdom (September 2014)
Service from the on-sight staff was excellent: kind, caring, and helpful. Rooms were basic, but quite acceptable for the type of property. Breakfast was basic. Unlike many places of this sort, there was not freshly-made coffees. A machine dispensed coffees. This was fine. The location was further from the center of the city than I would have preferred. I knew this when I booked, but really had no other choice.
Jeff - PA, USA (May 2014)
The sisters were very nice. Many of them speak English well specifically the sisters from the Phillipines. I liked that it was away from the Duomo (historical center) because it was quiet and away from the hordes of tourist but it was still only a 20 minute easy walk to the Duomo. Breakfast was adequate with bread, pastries, juice and coffee but no fresh fruit was served as stated in the description. However, there is a large fridge in the breakfast room where they will let you store food items.
Sonia - CA, United States (October 2013)
The sisters were absolutely wonderful. Very nice part of Florence. Beautiful Chapel. I am very glad I decided to go to this convent.
Penelope - SC, United States (October 2013)
Within short walking distance of the main areas of Florence. In nice area, with supermarket, lovely cafes, and variety of shops nearby. No traffic noise. Lovely to hear singing (during service) ring round in the early mornings. Staff were very welcoming and kind, accomodating and helpful, and some also speak English if needed. My room with small balcony looked on to garden. Several different nationalities and age groups present during my stay.
Jessica - Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (September 2013)
The English speaking nuns were very helpful.
We appreciated their friendly warm welcome.
The location was ideal for reaching the places of interest.
Judith Gay - MA, United States (September 2013)
The accommodations were lovely. Mass was wonderful to enjoy within the monastery - and hearing the sisters each morning singing was unique & beautiful. Language barrier was a problem.
Margretta - MS, USA (June 2013)
This is a very nice facility. It is very clean, spacious and quiet. We came to Florence by train from Rome and noted that the guest house is within an easy walk of the Campo di Marte railroad station. So we got off there, rather than going all the way to the Maria Novella station, and found our way to the Casa on foot without any difficulty. It is about a mile east of the historic city center, which might be a drawback for some, but we found it easily walkable.
We would certainly stay there again if we ever return to Florence.
Thomas - MT, United States (May 2013)
The place was wonderful. The nuns were helpful and kind. It was clean and quiet. I couldn't have asked for better.
Susan - MA, United States (April 2013)
I would go back without hesitation, and send friends there as well.
Martha - NY, United States (March 2013)
This moanstery was very, very pleasant with all the amenities anyone could want. The sisters were very helpful and many spoke English. The location was very good, close to all the important sites, but quiet far enough away from them at night.
Andrea - Ontario, Canada (October 2012)
The Sisters were very helpful which made for an enjoyable stay
Gerald J - NJ, United States (October 2012)
The facility was convenient to the city and well-maintained. The staff was mostly conversant in English and was helpful. It was delightful to hear the choir echoing through the halls in the morning.
Thomas - NV, United States (October 2012)
All were very helpful. Short walk to 'city tour' bus stop. Even walked to train once we figured out where we were. Nice neighborhood. Around the corner to a laundromat. Love it here.
Julie - Alberta, Canada (September 2012)
The Sisters were very helpful which made for an enjoyable stay
Gerald J - NJ, United States (September 2012)
The sisters provide excellent, clean accommodation which is located close to local shops and within easy walking distance to trains and buses. But the sisters were very welcoming and provided answers for all our questions = a very happy stay!
Elizabeth - Victoria, Australia (September 2012)
Excellent rooms and facilities
John - West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (June 2012)
The sisters were pleasant and even the ones who did not speak English were tuned to our needs enough to be able to communicate with hand signals and motions. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Driving in Florence is a challenge, so being in walking distance of to churches and museums was a real plus. It was nice waking up to quiet singing in the morning! We were also appreciative of the garden seating area, elevators and very safe parking area.
Beverly - CA, United States (May 2012)
We found the breakfast times of 8am till 9am provided a good discipline which helped us get the most out of our days. The immediate area is quiet and the garden provides a shady alternative to the sunny roof terrace which we had to ourselves during the evenings. There is a lively and reasonably priced family restaurant about 200 yards away in the same street. Fit people who are happy to walk will have no trouble walking into the centre of town.
Ian - Wiltshire, United Kingdom (May 2012)
The facilities are perfect and all the sisters were very helpful. The Filipino sisters, who are assigned at this convent/school along with Italian sisters, speak English which was very helpful. There is a public laundermat just a block away which made it perfect to wash our clothes. Easy access to everything. We walked to all the major tourist sites while our facility was just off to the east of everything and away from the heavy crowds.
Michael - NH, United States (April 2012)
The Sisters are wonderful hosts. For North Americans, the breakfast is a problem because we are used to more. I look at it as part of the Italian experience; my travel companions, though, had a difficult time adjusting.
John S - Ontario, Canada (April 2012)
Everyone was really lovely, and helpful. The only reason for making down the sleep quality is that the walls are either very thin, or there were very very loud people next to me. I could hear everything they said.
Leanne - Victoria, Australia (October 2011)
Good service; convenient.
Audrey - Queensland, Australia (September 2011)
I had a wonderful time. The nuns were quite helpful. I can speak Italian, and many of the nuns did not speak english. This location is in a neighborhood where it was quiet at night, but the restaurant and bar up the street were frequented by Italians so the prices were more reasonable. The Duomo is a good 15 minute walk which I didn't mind and there is bus transportation nearby, but I chose to walk. I went to Mass in the morning. Breakfast was fair. Coffee was from a machine, but the price was right and I also could use my computer in my room! I'd stay there again.
Barbara - MA, United States (September 2011)
We loved the peacefulness of the convent and listening to the sisters singing in the morning and evening was lovely.
Peg - PA, United States (June 2011)
Very warm welcome, well looked after. Would recommend this accommadation to anyone.
Stella - , Ireland (June 2011)
The sisters went above and beyond in terms of service - especially as some of our group missed curfew. They have a beautiful garden.. It is a relaxing site, and only about a 30 minute walk to the Duomo and center of Firenze. The only problem with the rooms is that with the windows open, several mosquitos. After the first night though, lesson learned not to leave the windows open and then there was no problem.
Andrew - WA, United States (April 2011)
Thanks for referral to local restaurant, it was good. Appreciated them taking credit card for balance as stated on reservation forms.
Carol - WA, United States (April 2011)
The sisters were very friendly and helpful! The convent was a peaceful refuge with a beautiful garden. It was spotless and very comfortable. It was just a short bus ride to the center of the city and all the beautiful sites! We woke up to quiet, gorgeous singing on our second morning. It became louder and more beautiful whenever a guest opened the door separating the guest quarters from the convent. Such a nice way to begin our day!
There was a bus strike on our second evening there -- we walked from the center of the city (not a problem for us, but could be a problem for older visitors).
Katherine - PA, United States (April 2009)
The sisters were very friendly and went beyond what we had expected when it came to helping place a call to our airlines. The breakfast wasn't very good, there could have been fruit.
Lynne - BC, Canada (May 2008)
Secure. Clean. Near the train station. Far from tourist attractions. The sisters speak limited English and I speak limited Italian. I would have enjoyed getting to know them better and learn more about their work but I couldn't because of the language.
Sue - NY, United States (May 2008)
Nice, clean, friendly place that was in a great location within walking distance to all of interest. Location and the place just sparkled. Breakfast was on the lean side compared to the Irish breakfast we always enjoy when in Ireland I loved it.
Richard - IL, United States (September 2007)
The room was simple, clean, small, and perfect for one person. It had a balcony looking out into a garden. The nuns were polite. The monastery was a nice walk (about half an hour) from the Duomo. It was great to walk through residential neighborhoods and see more of Florence. Breakfast consisted mostly of prepackaged foods.
