A warm and beautifully presented villa, with light and modern rooms and open spaces overlooking a manicured garden of Leccins, Liban's cedars, laurel trees and hedges.

Breakfast is included in the price.

Features

The villa retains period architecture and furnishings giving an historic atmosphere, matched by the 19th century Marini frescoes in the chapel. The magnificent gardens provide peaceful spaces and frame stunning views of Florence.

Getting Around

The hills of Careggi overlooking Florence. In the hills with good access to the city. Bus stop for city centre locations. Private transport recommended.  

History

The house was built as a grand villa of three buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th century. A magnificent Florence property in the same hills as the villa of Cosimo il Vecchio. The venue is formed by three buidings, one of the XVI and one of the XIX century.

	This is a beautiful place and the sisters are very kind and welcoming. Breakfast is in a lovely dining room, the coffee was hot and excellent, and there seemed to be more food put out every day. Villa i Cancelli was one of the Medici villas (a small one) and has a beautiful garden with a view over Florence in one direction and up to Fiesole in the other. The only drawback is that it is a little out of the way of public transport; a bus stops right outside, but is infrequent, so you need to get another bus and walk about 300 metres. I really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone who would like a few days out of the noisy chaos that is Florence in tourist season. There's lots of birdlife and it is quiet at night. (Added plus is two tortoises in the garden)
