What a special experience to stay at Casa Caterina Volpicelli. We started from the train terminal to walk with our suitcases. It was a warm walk in July. The location was right next to Porta Pia (across the road) which made a good direction reference on maps. Upon arrival at the convent, the sisters checked us in and made us feel refreshed by taking us to the cold water filter. We were in much need of the sister’s kind hospitality on the hot July walk. This sister who showed us around to our room has learned English and helps the guests during the stay. Our family stayed in a quad room on the first floor. I loved walking through the antique sitting room to get to our room. The room was just as pictured in the advertisement being very clean and decorated with antiques to match the style of the charm of the casa. Also the simplicity with sacred art above the beds made me feel the serenity of staying at a convent. It is not the posh of a hotel, just centered for spiritual and physical needs. The beds were comfortable for a much needed nap. We had an air conditioned unit we turned on that made the room pleasant after the July heat. There were plenty of plugs for us to use the adapters to recharge our devices and connect to their Wi-Fi. For dinner we found a family run restaurant that was just around the corner. It was really great. Also we enjoyed the amazing gelato restaurant nearby. The neighborhood was very safe to walk around at night. The next morning, I was able to wake up and join the sisters in the chapel for their morning prayers. I would advise everyone to experience this peaceful start to your day. Their acceptance and inclusion made we feel spiritually welcomed. Also I enjoyed walking in the gardens in the morning. They have made the gardens and grotto a peaceful setting to enjoy the simple breakfast of coffee and breads with chocolate spread. The dining area and kitchen was also a nice addition when needed and had a microwave. The sister helped us that morning to give us directions to the bus (around the corner down the road) and the bus number to get to the Vatican. We arrived home after a full day in Rome. We opened our door to find the sisters had made our beds and cleaned our room. It was so tidy and we were humbled by their service. The bathroom met our needs though European showers are compact. Again, we had a nice evening walking to see the Trevi fountain and restaurant. Of course, we had gelato again. Expect a line since it is so good. Having a gate code made arrival at night very convenient for independence. Again, it was very safe walking to the location. Even though our room was near the central road, we had a quiet stay. The next morning I again joined the sisters for morning prayers. Their singing was so beautiful to aid in the worship. Check out was very simple. Overall, this location met all my expectations I had envisioned. It was simplistic but very clean. The price was very reasonable for a family, and we felt fortunate to be in the nice neighborhood. The sisters were very kind and welcoming. I would recommend this location for others to enhance their spiritual pilgrimage and deepen your Catholic faith.

Wonderful stay.

Excellent location and wonderful welcome. Sisters are incredibly nice and worm, you feel very secure and welcomed. Breakfast is very minimum but there is a kitchen and a fridge so you can bring whatever you like and cook all your meals there. Excellent value! Highly recommended!

This place rocks for a stay in Rome. The facility is modernish and everything functioned properly in the room. The sisters are kind to say the least, although only one spoke English. There's a lovely courtyard garden with even a koi pond! The locations is a minutes walk to bus routes all over rome. As a solo 63 year old traveler I felt very safe there. Good value in rome.

The sisters and thier surrogates running Casa Elisabetta were kind, professional, committed, interested and humane people, who cared about our experience there. It is a beautiful, tranquil setting, an oasis of relative quiet in a busy, central location convenient to the Termini train station, in between the British and French Embassies. Beautiful garden area with pebbled pathways. 15 min walk to Via Veneto, the Quirinale, Via del Corso, the Borghese Gardens. Young kids day camp on site but separate from lodging area..seminary students sharing the space too, but barely visible. A lovely stay.
