House of the Frati Francescani Santuario Madona del Frassino
An ideal place lakeside getaway, only a couple of hundred meters from Italy's famous Lake Garda. There is a bar which has plenty of outdoor seating and an enclosed terrace.The building itself dates back centuries with many period-style features while its interior is modern and comfortable.In a country that boasts many grand lakes, Veneto's Lake Garda is the biggest. It is an especially popular destination during the Italian summer months and boasts not only a great place for swimming but many fabulous restaurants. Gardaland, Mondo Caneva and Zoo Park attract theme park lovers and large crowds but for those who prefer parks of the natural kind there are Mincio Park, Sigurtà Park and the Caves of Sirmione. Day trips to Verona and Mantova are also possible.

This monastery is operated by the Frati Francescani Santuario Madona del Frassino.This building displays a typical 16th century Renaissance architectural style. It is part of a wider complex including many other period-style buildings. A traditional courtyard and outdoor dining area add to the grandeur of this fine building and its countryside surroundings.
The guest house bar sells Dolce Liquore del Frassino and Amaro dei Frati, liqueurs made in tradition of the Franciscan Friars.

An impressive feature of this venue is its chapel. Dedicated to Madonna del Frassino, the chapel's porticoes and decorations date back to 1610 while the canvas on the altar was made by Farinati in 1560. The outside cloisters and detailing are complemented with a modern interior to the venue.

Access to the venue without a car is not easy, on arrival we walked with our luggage which was not easy. The venue is beautifully maintained but without a car it is just too difficult to get around. |

The people who run the venue are very kind. They were helpful to us when we arrived late and had not eaten. We got a little lost on the way. It was a relief to arrive to such a nice tranquil location. The rooms were nice and very clean. My friend and I had a very comfortable stay and we enjoyed exploring the area. |
