This quiet regional areas is perfect for an alpine getaway. During the winter, guests are spoiled for choice with a number of popular ski resorts only a short drive away. During the warmer months, the area is perfect for hiking and bike riding, which is a great way to experience the breathtaking scenery on offer. Saint-Nicolas sits on the slopes of the Dora River's left bank and at a height of 1200m, is the perfect spot to soak up the meadows and orchards that span from Mount Emilius to Mount Rutor. The region capital of Aosta is close by making day trips easy for those looking to see some of the city's fantastic ancient Roman ruins.
