Christina - NSW, Australia (October 2017)
It is such a great idea to have a place like this to stay in the centre of Milan.
The simple, modest and no frills approach at a great price is perfect for a traveller like me who isn't necessarily looking for a plush experience, just the basics are enough for a short stay.
I wish I had discovered this place sooner!
Keep up the good work.
Emma - London, United Kingdom (September 2017)
The room was clean and quiet. We felt very safe. But the most outstanding quality of Istituto La Casa was the people who work for the monastery, from JR who kept our room immaculately, clean and everybody in front desk/reception area... I can only remember Sandro's name.
Thank you so much for a memorable stay.
Evelyn - CA, United States (September 2017)
Convenient location, friendly staff, rooms are quite dated but the room was clean and we slept well.
Tasha - CA, United States (September 2017)
-Folks at the front desk couldn't have been more helpful, they were great!
-Friday night goings-on in the neighborhood=noisy + rough night for sleep but other nights no problem.
Marta - IL, United States (September 2017)
The front desk service people were very kind and helpful to me. My only critical comment is that the toiletries could have been a little better. In any event, overall, my stay at the Istituto La Case was very pleasant. Thank you for your hospitality and service.
Amy - DC, United States (June 2017)
This is a no frills establishment in an urban location. Blocks away from the train station and in a safe neighborhood to walk in (for a single female traveler). The single room was efficient and clean. There was no bidet in my room, only a toilet. The room (floor) was quiet. There is no garden or patio area to relax in.
The staff here are extraordinary! They are very friendly and helpful. They could answer any question I had and offered insider tips for where to go and how best to get around.I was having difficulty securing a ticket for The Last Supper and the staff told me how to secure one~ it worked. The staff made my stay delightful, they are so friendly.
Accommodations are minimum, no meals are served yet there is a grocery store in walking distance through a nice neighborhood. Great to see the locals. A local coffee shop is on the walk to the train,a perfect stop for getting a pastry and coffee in the morning. There are also a couple restaurants in walking distance for aperitivo if you don't wish to wait for the Italian late night dinner.

This was a great experience. On this trip to Italy, our group stayed in three different Monastery facilities in different cities. Istituto La Casa was great! It was a short walk from a friends' home with easy public transport nearby. The staff was kind and helpful and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We even had little terraces which were great for viewing the neighborhood. Super experience!
Tena - OK, United States (September 2015)
Friendly and helpful staff, reasonably priced, a bit far to walk to city center but easy access to metro, many eateries nearby as well as bakery and small stores. The place is quiet except that the floors are marble(?) and you can hear footsteps along the corridor and up/down the stairs. [Note: new floor coverings and fans installed June 2015]
Lourdes - Ontario, Canada (May 2015)
A fantastic place to stay, within two blocks walk of the Metro, in the historical centre of Milan. Staff gave us a warm welcome and went out of their way to assist us when we needed help. There was a great cafe a block away, where we had breakfast each morning. Great location, great people, excellent value.
Clare - Western Australia, Australia (November 2014)
The rooms were very clean, and the folks at the front desk were very polite and helpful. The location is perfect and felt very safe, given how large Milan is.
Tamara - CA, United States (July 2014)
Comfortable, warm clean facilities.
Barbara - MANAWATU, New Zealand (October 2013)
Very basic accommodation. The reception was very kind, friendly and helpful.
Nella - Ontario, Canada (July 2013)
Very convenient, very nice and helpful people, though the building completely lacks charm.
Genevra - MD, United States (October 2012)
Wonderful location, and closer to the Metro than I expected! Very easy to get around. Very helpful and informative staff that were always happy to help.
Clayton - NY, United States (May 2012)
The personnel were very pleasant and more than helpful. It was a little bit loud at night - even until 12am. This combined with the size of the bathroom might make me think twice about staying here again - but the value proposition remains.
Wayne - Canterbury, New Zealand (April 2012)
The personnel here were incredibly hospitable. They assisted me in arranging for taxis and other transportation. All of them were most friendly. My room was a bit dated, and the bed very narrow. The location is ideal; close to a Metro station.
Matthew - MO, United States (March 2012)
Very friendly and helpful staff. I walked to the Duomo from here and to the train station however there is also tram, bus and metro services all within a block.
Helen - South Australia, Australia (February 2012)
This place is very convenient to the Metro and there are some people there who speak English and are very helpful.
Robert - SC, United States (September 2011)
We enjoyed our stay and the hospitality!
Monika - , Austria (April 2011)
Room & bathroom good and accommodation good.
Karen - New South Wales, Australia (February 2011)
The man at the desk was lovely.
The rooms were clean and well furnished. The place was centrally located. It was hard to find. The taxi driver had never heard of it, and it wasn't clearly identified on the outside.
Helen - Auckland, New Zealand (October 2010)
Clean, quiet overall just a touch too expensive, especially considering no breakfast.
Will - Gloucestershire, United Kingdom (September 2010)
The staff.
Barbara - IN, United States (April 2010)
Clean, fairly good location, very nice staff. Even by European standards, this room/ bathroom was small. TV in common room had limited channels.
bonnie - FL, United States (January 2010)
Affordable, near metro.
Thomas - NY, United States (September 2009)
The place where my family and I stayed was located in a quiet neighborhood in Milan and we never felt unsafe at all during our stay. The staff was totally courteous and very helpful even though we spoke very little Italian.
