Location and staff fabulous. So quite yet so close to everything. The rooms spotlessly clean. The rooms are very basic but everything you need. Not luxury accomodation but perfect for what I needed. Breakfast simple but set me up for the day. As single woman travelling ( or travelling with my daughter for some of it) perfect , safe, welcoming place to stay.

Extensive renovations, have transformed this antique venue into a modern and colorful facility. Surrounding gardens and outdoor common areas offer a great place to relax and unwind after a day of sight seeing.

Vanessa - NSW, Australia (June 2024)
My first time staying in a monastery and I would certainly do so again…
Susan - VIC, Australia (May 2024)
Good location, clean room, quiet, comfortable, ample hot water, generous breakfast and laundry facilities!
Brenda - SK, Canada (December 2022)
A wonderful place to stay in a very expensive city. Staff utterly delightful and so helpful.
Andrew - SURREY, United Kingdom (September 2022)
Location was perfect for exploring Bologna, am not particularly fit but could walk everywhere comfortably. About 30 mins walk from central train station to the venue.
Mary - Co Westmeath, Ireland (December 2021)
They were amazing and so accommodating! I would go again.
Sierra - MA, United States (November 2021)
Very central to the city centre and all it has to offer and to public transport. Breakfast basic but more than adequate for our needs. Plenty of nearby places to eat.
Dinese - AUK, New Zealand (October 2019)
The Collegio staff were welcoming and as I arrived 2 hours earlier, was able to leave my luggage safely in a room near the reception.
The accommodation is a few minute walk to the centre but it takes a while to get there from the station. There is a bus stop about 5 minutes away and then it takes some 15 minutes to the train station. A bus shuttle from the station to the Aeroport for 6euro takes about 20 minutes. The tickets for this aeroport bus are to be bought not on the bus as I read somewhere but in an office behind a taxi stand on the right when you are standing with your back to the train station.
Ok, the room was rather small and spartan, with a decent size bathroom, really suffcient for staying overnight or spending most of the time in the city. The breakfast was served at 7am. While overall there was a lot of processed food, there was enough to choose from including a decent coffee. I certainly welcomed the fruit selection. Collegio is a conveniently located accommodation in a quiet area and I would stay there again.

Reliable, cozy accommodation.
Jeffrey - CA, United States (July 2019)
Thank you !
Nathalie - , France (May 2019)
There were three of us and we thought the accommodation was ideal.
We could walk in and out of the centre easily. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.
Mary - , United Kingdom (April 2019)
Thanks again for a brilliant stay!
Alex - , United Kingdom (May 2018)
Excellent location, wonderful and helpful staff. Our room faced the road, so a bit loud in the evenings - ask for a quiet room. Beds were on the firm side, but that seems to be standard in accommodations. Dry clean and the rooms were well designed to accommodate our stuff.
Cecilia - FL, United States (May 2018)
All personnel very helpful and friendly, room very comfortable, breakfast good, location of Collegio Universitario S. Tommaso d Aquino ideally situated within walking distance of so many places to visit. Thank you
Paula - CO DUBLIN, Ireland (May 2018)
I will have good memories of this place!

Robert - Essex, United Kingdom (September 2017)
Absolutely lovely! I'd never stayed in a monastery before and it was just wonderful. So close to the main square in Bologna and such lovely accommodations. I had been a little wary of the 1 am curfew but it actually made me feel very safe as a woman traveling alone. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful and it was definitely great for those on a student budget!
Hannah - NY, United States (June 2017)
Have stayed at EMB113 before and will return there if I ever go back to Bologna
Ida - MS, United States (May 2017)
It was quiet, clean and nice with good service, breakfast still a little bit poor.
Liina - Estonia, Estonia (April 2017)
It was a peaceful place close to the city centre with good accommodation and services.
Bronwyn - New South Wales, Australia (September 2016)
It was a thoroughally enjoyable experience.
Seamus - co galway, Ireland (September 2016)
This place was a delight. Staff were helpful, the place was immaculate and located closeby St Dominic's Basilica and the #30 bus line to and from the train station. Don't miss the restaurant with home cooked foods at very reasonable prices. Often frequented by local Bologna folks, you'll enjoy the hospitality of the wonderful wait staff "Gioia" and Fausto...who make eating here like eating in a Bolognese home. It was truly a delight and I hope I return again soon!
Deborah Jean - NY, United States (June 2016)
Will definitely plan to stay there again when I'm next in Bologna.
Elisabeth - , Switzerland (April 2016)
Staff at the reception desk are very helpful and professional. The room was nice with TV and wifi. Room service was impeccable. I used the laundry room during my stay and it was very convenient. The location is off the busy area but only a short walk away. You can walk to every museums in the center of the city.
Denis - Quebec, Canada (October 2015)
Excellent value meals available on site except Sundays when only breakfast available.
Reception staff very informative, obliging.
Number 30 bus stops close to S. Tommaso departs every 20 minutes. Much cheaper and more "direct" than taxi!
Automatic washing machine on site.
Christopher - Queensland, Australia (October 2015)
A pleasant place to stay. Helpful staff, convenient parking, very well located, and comfortable facilities.
David - Tasmania, Australia (July 2015)
I can thoroughly recommend EMB113. The staff were very helpful and kind, the room was very clean, with lots of hot water in the bathroom, lovely fresh towels every day. Excellent value for money.
The college is situated in a most marvellous position in the historic centre of the city just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Piazza Maggiore and most of the important museums.
I cannot recommend this college too highly.
Marie - , United Kingdom (April 2015)
A beautiful place to stay, only a short walk from Piazza Maggiore. It is beautifully appointed, staff are friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Breakfast was included, but lunch and dinner are available and such good value.
Clare - Western Australia, Australia (November 2014)
There was a lack of traveller information , things to do in Bologna, how to see the city sights, bus route details, museums opening hours, location etc. I feel this accommodation has mainly been used for people on work, visiting university & not tourists.
Katherine - , New Zealand (September 2014)
I very much enjoyed my stay in this Residence. The Residence is extremely well located to areas of interest.
Gloria - Ireland, Ireland (May 2014)
Though the site is a little difficult to find for the first time, I loved the location as it was in a more residential area and it was very easy to access the center of Bologna. I had a beautiful view of the church from my window and my room was very comfortable and clean.
Mariana - NY, United States (October 2013)
This was the second time we stayed there, and once more we appreciated the kindness and friendliness of absolutely everyone who works here.
Ingrid - , Belgium (November 2012)
There is a nice large sitting room on the main floor. The staff is very nice and the room is adequate. Great towels. Breakfast was ok. The location is close to major sites and transit. However, the bed was very uncomfortable.
Lorraine - WA, United States (October 2012)
The friendliness of absolutely everybody - from the reception to the waiter in the trattoria - was remarkable and created a very warm and homely feeling.
Ingrid - , Belgium (September 2012)
Very quiet, comfortable bed, nice large bathroom, breakfast was good but small.
Kathleen - OR, United States (March 2012)
The staff was so helpful, and gave me good advice for finding my way around Bologna. The only complaint that I had was that the bed was lumpy and hard. But overall I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to my friends.
Susan - TN, United States (March 2012)
This was a very clean and efficient facility with all the necessary amenities. The neighbourhood was quiet and the attractions of Bologna were all within acceptable walking distance.
Matthew - MO, United States (March 2012)
limited breakfast: not a big problem. the convent has a bus schedule and will show you on a map where to find the bus stop. Staff was very helpful and even allowed me to speak Italian without the usualy expression of "what are you saying". Easy walk into town, to the main square (where you will find the tourist office).
Eileen - GA, United States (November 2011)
The Collegio was extremely well located to explore Bologna and the desk staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection of food. The rooms were small and the beds were very narrow. There were few towels in the rooms and those that were there were of poor quality. Besides those two things, though, it was a great place to stay!
Margot - Ontario, Canada (October 2011)
The location could not have been more tranquil, and it was just a brief stroll along lovely old arcades to the historic centre. The room was cosy, the water hot, the communal areas beautifully furnished and the atmosphere extremely serene. Staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was more than adequate - the smell of the croissants creeping up the stairs was very seductive!
Sue - Gloucestershire, United Kingdom (October 2011)
I didn't realise how far from the train station this monastery was. I would have liked it to be moved a bit closer, because otherwise everything was very good. When I sprained my ankle the staff was very concerned and helpful.
Julie - , New Zealand (October 2011)
We were very happy with our accommodations. The staff was helpful and very friendly. We were able to use the laundry, WIFI, and gym facilities at no additional cost. There is public transportation nearby and the main piazza is within easy walking distance. All in all, a great place to stay.
diane - ontario, Canada (September 2011)
They do have free wifi now! The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but everything else was absolutely excellent and highly recommended.
Hannah - CA, United States (September 2011)
The room was clean and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you don't need a 24 hour front desk or a hair dryer, stay here!
Maureen - CA, United States (June 2011)
The desk staff was especially friendly and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Julia - VA, United States (May 2011)
We loved our stay in Bologna. It was everything we expected - clean, safe, & the staff was very friendly. It was in a great location. The breakfast provided was excellent. Would most def stay here again!
Kathy - MI, United States (May 2011)
Lovely neighbourhood, hosts very accommodating, central to everything, and being able to do laundry and internet access huge plus!
Sharon - New South Wales, Australia (March 2011)
The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, and I would definitely stay here again. I appreciated their patience in helping me work out some logistics (e.g., getting to train station, leaving bags in storage). All in all, very accommodating and made for a very pleasant trip to Bologna
cynthia - MD, United States (February 2011)
Quiet; well-located; clean and well-appointed; wi-fi; safe; kind and helpful staff.
