This monastery is operated by the Ordine Frati Minori.

The lodging has been tastefully renovated giving a nice contrast between modern design and the centuries-old features of the original structure.

Air-conditioning is available over Summer months at a small additional charge. Enquire via Additional Requirements at step '3. Submit' in your Travel Plan.

Breakfast is included in the price. Other meals are available at the venue on request. Charges apply.

Features

The beautiful cloisters that line the outside of the convent give guests an idea of the building's past. A courtyard and a high-ceiling dining room are inviting features to the venue for guests to enjoy.

Getting Around

Located just outside Palermo, this venue is in the suburb of Baida, offering a superb view of Palermo and the surrounding hills. Outside the city, among the hills with access to Palermo. Public transport links are located nearby,however, private transportation is recommended.  

History

The site has had a religious connection since 1377 when the Counts of Modica built a church and monastery there. Today, the history of this ancient building remains intact, offering a quintessential Monastery Stays experience with all the services of modern travel.

	The monastery is in a quiet location with outstanding views, however this means access is mostly by car. The rooms are comfortable. People were friendly and it helped to have an outstanding restaurant on site for dinner. Breakfast was simple.

	The place is wonderful and the staff were most obliging, though we did need our Italian quite often. The dinners at 10 euros were very good value, though tough on vegetarians. The breakfast was rather complained about, and really should be improved.

	Public transport to-from the city center was easy, practically at the door. Breakfast was meager. View from the terrace was incredible. All-in-all, it was a good experience and inexpensive. We appreciated being out of the city center.
