This guest house is operated by the Vicariato di Roma.

A grand villa presenting imposing spaces, original architectural features blended with beautifully presented, spacious rooms.

The Chapel is large and all guests are welcome to participate in the services held. You only need to ask the staff about times.

Breakfast is included in the price. Lunch and dinner available, book at reception. There is also a bar available.

Outside, the exquisitely manicured gardens, in an Italian/English style, surround the villa creating a peaceful retreat for guests.

Getting Around

Situated in the historic center of Rome. City with easy access. Bus, train and metro stops for local and surrounding locations.  

History

The palace was built around 1933 and in 2000, in occasion of the Jubilee, the house underwent major renovations.

	Loved the "on the hill" location, high ceilings and windows, ironed linen towels and ability to buy rosaries onsite. Attentive English speaking front staff. Dinner was delicious but would have liked to have a menu for the day displayed. Grazie

	This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms and modern comfort. The building is located in an Extraterritorial Zone of the Holy See and as such you are not subject to Italian taxes. It is however a bit far from the city center and you have to walk up the Vatican Hill. There is a bus stop in front of the building, but the buses tend to be crowded.

	Absolutely fabulous place to stay. Very simple accommodations, that are spotlessly clean, located just outside Vatican walls. We walked all over Rome from here. The couple of times we needed a cab, one was called from the front desk for us. Lunch and dinner were also available in the dining room without reservation or advance notice. The front desk staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay here and would certainly return.

	My room was huge. The bathroom was also large. The breakfasts were delicious. My daughter joined me for dinner one night. Because she cannot eat gluten or dairy, they made her a special meal. This monastery is used by school groups, so it was a little noisy in the evening, but the kids were quiet by 10. It is within walking distance to the Vatican and the Vatican museum. Just be sure to get the directions to the Vatican from the front desk as there is a less steep way to get there. I would recommend this monastery to friends.

	Simply outstanding stay! We stayed at the Casa Bonus Pastor for twelve nights. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful; the accommodations were excellent (scrupulously clean, quiet, spacious). Seven of our family travelled together- each of the three rooms was perfect. It was wonderful to have use of the chapel each night to pray our family rosary. We greatly enjoyed the family-style meals, particularly the dinners. We frequently brought guests back to the Casa Bonus Pastor to join us for dinner- the food was delicious, the staff courteous and helpful- at about 17E/ person, the price was a value. Our accommodations at the Casa Bonus Pastor were superior to accommodations at a hotel on a previous trip to Rome. Would definitely recommend the Casa, and we hope to return here again.
