This is a wonderful offering in the middle of Campania, with a peaceful environment and some amazing historical and religious sights to be seen.

The main attraction in the town is the Santurario di Carpignano, which is a church built many years ago. The church houses a painting of a Black Madonna which has been in area for hundreds of years. The monastery is attached to the church, ensuring guests stay as close as possible to this holy sight. The lodging has a museum attached to it, with history of the Black Madonna artwork, as well as a detailed history of the religious order who have been present in the convent for over 100 years. While there are only a few shops and restaurants in Carpignano, the town is very close to Grottaminarda, of which Carpignano is considered an outer suburb. Grottaminarda also has some fantastic old churches which are well worth visiting. Each Monday morning, Grottaminarda holds a fresh food market, where local farmers from the area sell their produce. Be sure to get their early for your chance to buy some amazing fresh food.
