Customer Reviews
This was a very nice place to stay!
Hilde - , Norway (October 2013)
Very nice stay. The nuns were kind and very charming.
Edward - MA, United States (October 2013)
The staff were efficient, attentive and friendly. The breakfast was excellent.
Jeanne - Ontario, Canada (September 2013)
Personal was very friendly, took a lot of care and was extremely helpful.
Galina - , Ukraine (September 2013)
The sisters were very helpful. They were very gracious. It was a clean, safe, affordable, nice place to stay for my girls' choir.
Oakcrest - VA, United States (June 2013)
My stay at Casa Mater Immacolata was great. I was in a small room but it was clean, had a private washroom and a view of St. Peter's Dome which was nice to see lit up at night. The breakfast was substantial with juice, cereal, cheese, roll, jam. The Sisters don't know much English but ask to use the computer and you can write in your language and it will translate.
Loretto - Ontario, Canada (June 2013)
The staff are very welcoming and friendly, making a huge effort to overcome language barriers. Simple continental breakfast but perfectly adequate.
Lynne Virginia - Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (May 2013)
Very friendly.
Susan - NH, United States (May 2013)
We enjoyed our stay very much. The sisters were most welcoming and helpful in every way even though they did not speak English and we did not speak Italian. We intend to stay with them when we go back to Rome. The area is very near to the Vatican but handy to every where else too.
Brendan - Antrim, United Kingdom (March 2013)
Wonderful sisters running this place. Comfortable, clean room (and mine had a perfect view of St Peters Basilica dome. Don't be late for breakfast! Great to have been able to attend Mass on Sunday morning in the beautiful little chapel. Be aware that the closest restaurant on the main road (the one with the red chandaliers and decor, charges for use of their table napkins and each slice of bread you eat. I really enjoyed the stay.
Victoria - New South Wales, Australia (November 2012)
This convent is safe, clean, quiet and the sisters are nice. Although breakfast was included it was less than mediocre. There are several very good cafes and a great restaurant (Osteria dei Pontefici) within walking distance.
Patti - MD, United States (October 2012)
Casa Mater Immacolata is on a quiet street less than a mile (easy and enjoyable walking distance for us) from the Vatican. The facility is clean and nice, but it was the warm hospitality of the sisters that made our stay warm, welcome and enjoyable.
The language barrier was a small challenge, but the sisters made an extra effort to communicate when we struggled with Italian.
The traditional light breakfast was always available on time and presented with great pride and exceptional service.
Samuel - PA, United States (October 2012)
The two sisters who look after the breakfast and office are very loving - you will be well looked after here. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Access to public transit is very good.
C Isabelle - Alberta, Canada (October 2012)
The Sisters didn't speak English but they were a wonderful group who did everything they could to make my stay great. It is right next to San Pietro Station on the FR3 and FR5 lines which is handy. The Vatican is very close as well as the North American College.
Michael - MO, United States (October 2012)
Excellent Value. The Sisters were extremely nice, the accommodations very comfortable and the location was convenient.
Joseph I - CT, United States (September 2012)
What a wonderful time we had!!! The Sisters were so sweet and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. We were very close to transportation (bus and train), the Vatican, and restaurants.
Cathie - SC, United States (September 2012)
Very close to Vatican, the location is also useful for those who plan trips by train (e,g, to Lago Bracciano). Clean rooms. Buffet breakfasts, so one will not be hungry, but in Italian style (rather sweet, with some jams, but no cheese, ham or sausage).
Michal - Wielkopolskie, Poland (September 2012)
The Nuns were lovely and the rooms perfectly adequate. Very good value.
Geraldine - London, United Kingdom (September 2012)
The nuns are really kind and helpful. I really recommend this so quiet, spotless and beautifully located place
Giuliana - Brescia, Italy (September 2012)
Despite our inability to speak Italian we were shown kindness and friendship from a lovely group of people. Don't go expecting a hotel, but this is a lovely way of seeing Rome and its people at an affordable price. We would love to visit here again.
Christine - Merseyside, United Kingdom (May 2012)
Great from all aspects you can evaluate. But the best was about the sisters themselves: wonderful.
Oscar - Madrid, Spain (April 2012)
We had a lovely stay and were made very welcome by the sisters, who could not have been kinder or more hospitable. The breakfast was very good, and the house was very convenient for the Vatican and for buses to other parts of Rome. We would definitely stay there again.
Hannah - Oxfordshire, United Kingdom (April 2012)
Fantastic accommodation! The rooms were spotless and the Sisters could not have been more helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at the Casa Mater Immacolata and will definitly return.
Mary L - East Renfrewshire, United Kingdom (April 2012)
Its proximity to the Vatican suited us for the Easter ceremonies. The Sisters were very friendly and welcoming and there was a pleasant atmosphere in the breakfast room in the mornings.
Nuala - Co Dublin, Ireland (April 2012)
The Sisters could not have been more hospitable, we enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to going back.
Francesca - The Vale of Glamorgan, United Kingdom (March 2012)
All the people were amazing, and it was a great place as a lone traveller to meet other people.
Leanne - Victoria, Australia (October 2011)
Its proximity to the Vatican and the kindness of the Sisters who ran the house. You could not exit prior to 7 AM.
