This convent is operated by the Pie Suore della Redenzione.

An imposing country villa, commanding spectacular city and countryside views from it guest rooms and sitting areas over the classic gardens. Rooms are immaculately presented, large and comfortable, surrounding the featuring staircase and halls with high timber ceilings.

Mass Monday and Wednesday at 7.15am.

Breakfast is included in the price. Dinner available, book with the Sisters.

Getting Around

Located at the foot of the Fiesole hills, overlooking Florence. In the hills with access to the city. Best accessed with private transport.  

History

A classic early 12th century Tuscan countryside villa, the house was acquired by the Sisters in the 1950's and progressively restored to it's now completed grandeur. The guest house supports the Order's work with marginalized and oppressed women in Italy and developing nations.

	This is a wonderful and peaceful place that is extremely clean and comfortable. The three nuns who run the villa are the sweetest and are meticulous about taking care of their guests. We can't say enough about how kind and loving they were. If you don't speak Italian, you might consider bringing a translation book to better communicate. Wifi is not available and it ended up being quite nice. When we go back to Florence, we will definitely want to stay there again.

	The location of the monastery is only slightly outside of the Florence city limits and is easily accessed by a bus at the bottom of a hill (a downhill walk) and to get back take another bus which drops you off for another downhill walk! Easy! I cannot say enough about how NICE and SWEET the nuns who reside here are. They are Sister Floriana, Sister Gemma and Sister Sandra. They only speak Italian, but we (6 of us) who did not speak Italian got along and through to them well! They did help with which buses to get to and they serve great breakfast and for an additional fee great dinners with wine! We ate two nights there as well as the breakfasts! The only negative was no fans or air-conditioning in the rooms. We went in the summer and it was hot! A great place to stay! Highly recommend it!
