A typical rural-style venue awaits atop a Piemonte hill, overlooking the alps and the stunning city of Ivrea. A host of attractions will keep visitors occupied for days including a 4th century AD cathedral and surrounding lakes. Immaculate rooms and interior facilities ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay for all at a lovely traditional lodging.Ivrea is a stunning city, which lies on the Dora Baltea River in a basin that formed a great lake in prehistoric times. Five smaller lakes remain today and are well worth visiting: Sirio, San Michele, Pistono, Nero and Campagna. The Cathedral of Ivrea is an architectural delight and dates back to the 4th century AD when it was constructed over a pagan temple. There are also a number of great museums well worth a look, as well as the ruins of an old Roman amphitheater on the outskirts of the city. One event Ivrea is particularly well known for is an orange-throwing festival held each February, much like the La Tomatina festival in Valenica, Spain. There are nine different teams made-up of Ivrea locals who participate each year, and visitors are welcome to participate.

Surrounding it are endless panoramic views of the alps to the north and the entire Ivrea city center and River Dora Baltea to the south.

The venue boasts plenty of history. Former Bishop of Cork and Cloyne, the Blessed Thaddeus McCarthy died here in 1490. His body is now buried in the Ivrea Cathedral and many miracles have been attributed to his name since his death.
