This is a wonderful monastery to spend a vacation on the Ligurian coast. With the possibility to reach some picturesque, isolated beaches, guests here can have a fantastic and unique experience.

The lodging is within easy reach of Lerici and La Spezia. It is a little further, but still possible to cross the border to the famous Tuscan town of Pisa for a day trip. The port at Bocca di Magra has boats and ferries running, that can take guests up the river or to some of the small beaches and inlets that are otherwise hard to get to.

This monastery is operated by the Padri Carmelitani Scalzi della Provincia Ligure.

Set in 10 hectares of park-like grounds interspersed with pines and olive plantations, the lovely gardens are ideal for peaceful reflection and a moment of solitude. The monastery itself is perched high up, overlooking the pristine waters of the Italian Riviera.

There is a lovely dining room at the lodging, which serves fantastic meals using local produce.

The convent was bought by the religious order in 1952, and they opened it to guests in 1960, and have since then run a wonderful accommodation.
