Well located to all sites on the island, close to the Ponte dell'Accademia which is not only a vaporetto stop but one of the landmark bridges across the Grand Canal.

History
Built in the 13th century as a convent for the Jesuits of San Girolamo the building was aquired in August 1923 by the priest Don Orione. A grand restoration over ten years saw the guest house re-open in Don Orione's vision in 2006 with a beautiful blend of the old and new.
Customer Reviews
This is a superb location and everything about the accommodation is excellent.
Chris - South Africa, South Africa (October 2022)
We loved it. Only shortfall was that the air conditioning seemed erratic. But the location is excellent, and the grounds are lovely. Rooms are spotless if a bit spare. All told, we were very satisfied with our stay, and will definitely be back!
Jennifer - NY, United States (June 2017)
The location was fantastic, right amongst the canals, restaurants and bars but not overrun by the tour groups in San Marco.
Tom & Karina - SA, Australia (October 2016)
Great place to stay in Venice...can't wait to come again....perfect location and neighborhood ....thank you to all the excellent staff.....breakfasts could have been more varied each day......overall a wonderful stay and would highly recommend....
Lora - RI, United States (September 2016)
This is a great place to stay and thoroughly recommend it. The only thing that would make it perfect is the ability to have a cup of tea or coffee after breakfast.
Taya - Victoria, Australia (August 2016)
Great for schools and youth groups. We took 31 scouts and it was perfect!

We had a fantastic stay at Centro Culturale Don Orione; the staff (reception and at breakfast) were just lovely and very helpful; the building has been tastefully renovated and while simple it is spotlessly clean, and the beds comfortable. Only problem we experienced was dealing with mosquitoes which were in the room when we arrived and made sleeping difficult. Otherwise, just a fantastic place to stay. Thank you!
Stephen - New South Wales, Australia (June 2016)
Centro Culturale Don Orione Artigianelli was less than 200 ydrs from the Zattari Vaporetto stop. It was about a 25 minute ride from the train station. It was very easy to get to inspite of jet lag. We arrived at 9:30 am and were allowed to leave our luggage until check in time and they did let us check in a few hours early. The breakfast was simple fare, typical of most B&Bs and the venue was lovely. The AC could have been a little better as the room was a bit too warm but opening the window helped with that. The location was excellent. We walked to all the museums and even Basilica San Marco and when it was time to leave it was easy to go back by Vaporetta. A note, dragging wheeled suit cases on cobblestoned streets is not easy but this was so close to the Vaporetto stop, it wasn;t an issue. Would definitely stay again.

Loved every bit of it! Took water taxi for arrival because of older group with luggage--didn't want them to deal with public transport on arrival. For departure, we used public transport with no problem. The Staff provided EXCELLENT advice on getting around Venice to all our planned site visits, including Torcello.
Etta - MO, USA (June 2016)
The accommodation room was very basic for the cost (more than €200 per day for double room). It was not good value for money considering the cost of comparable hotels accommodation on the same street. The breakfast too was disappointing very limited choice.
Cian - Louth, Ireland (May 2016)
This venue was amazing. The location was perfect! Close to vaporetto stop and interesting sites, in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. We felt safe and welcome. Staff was extremely helpful.
Kathryn - GA, United States (May 2016)
I was so pleasantly surprised and delighted with my stay. The place had history value for me and surpassed my every expectation. Thank you for your hospitality!

We love this place. The building, the rooms and the customer service (nice staff). And the location is perfect.
John - New South Wales, Australia (May 2015)
Reception services were excellent. They arranged for us to attend a magnificent concert by the Interpreti Veneziani and were very helpful in responding to all queries and requests.
James - KS, United States (December 2014)
It was a great place to stay! We loved it.
Perren - ID, United States (September 2014)

Marnie - CA, United States (July 2014)
Beautiful facilities. Generous range of food available for breakfast. Great location. Most expensive of our monastery stays but good value considering quality and location of facilty
Andrea - Hawkes Bay, New Zealand (June 2014)
Our accommodation was in a beautifully restored historic building with peaceful courtyards. The accommodation was in a charming neighbourhood and close to all attractions in Venice. The breakfasts were great although we were disappointed that it didn't include any cold meat, compared to other places. Generally the younger male and female staff were very helpful and pleasant but we did find one of the staff a little offhand and disinterested.
Paul - New South Wales, Australia (May 2014)
The location was excellent.
Eileen - Down, United Kingdom (March 2013)
Absolutely ecellent. Staff was multi-lingual and multi-congenial. Wi-fi was great. Just all around superb.
Ken - NM, United States (January 2013)
Our first Monastery stay. It was the cleanest, largest, most restful acommodation we had on our trip in Europe. Great location, easy walk to St Marks Square.
Tracy - New Zealand, New Zealand (September 2012)
We thought the building was beautiful, and loved the room outlook to the cloisters. Nice to spend an hour down there too reading a book. Breakfast was nice, and all staff helpfull and polite.
John - New South Wales, Australia (May 2012)
They coped with the demands of a large group very well. It was quite expensive for double rooms, but good value for singles. The breakfast was good and the service friendly.
Jo - London, United Kingdom (October 2011)

Ken - Alberta, Canada (July 2011)
Chosen for its location, this is surprisingly state-of-the-art for conference center and use of electronic media. Very accommodating staff. Hope to stay here again!
Toma - OH, United States (May 2011)
It was wonderful, a superb introduction to the professional services of Monastry Stays and their products.
Daniella - Victoria, Australia (March 2011)
The staff were very helpful.
donald - New South Wales, Australia (February 2011)
The friendly atmosphere. The location. It was too much an hotel and not really a monastery.
