This convent is operated by the Congregazione delle Suore Collegine della Sacra Famiglia.

A classic and traditional style building with an interior to match. A touch of modern furniture makes for a warm and inviting environment.

Breakfast is not included in the price. There are a number of nearby cafe's to enjoy a typical Sicilian breakfast.

Features

An internal courtyard provides a place to relax outdoors and enjoy the sound of the guest house bells as they ring from the building's top tower.

Getting Around

Located in the center of Palermo near some of the city's major attractions. City with easy access. Many attractions are within walking distance and public transport links are nearby.  

History

The Cardinal who established this lodging in the 1700s devoted his life to helping those in need. The building reflects a typical Sicilian monastery. The guesthouse does host a kindergarten from Monday to Fridays, as part of the Sisters continued contribution to the community.

	I loved staying at Collegio di Maria di Palermo al Giusino. The nuns were friendly and accommodating. The location was in the center but away from a busy street nearby. I walked everywhere. The place had everything a busy traveler needs. I’d definitely come back again.

	I would like to thank the Nun who took care of us while we stayed there. She was extremely nice and accommodating. Our flight was delayed and we ended up getting to Palermo at 1 am in the morning. We called the Nun, who welcomed us at that hour and showed us to our room. I would highly recommend this place anyone who would like to visit Palermo.

	The nuns were very kind. They only come to the reception area when you ring their doorbell and then they will walk over. I couldn't get out the first morning as no one had shown me the door release button hidden away a bit off to the right of the door. Spacious rooms. Great location.

	It was fine. It was sad that there were only 2 nuns there (the others were on holiday apparently) and we felt there were a little hassled. They were delightful once they realised we spoke a little bit of Italian. They looked a bit stretched and worried. We were pleased to have stayed there rather than anywhere else. We could recommend it to some or our best friends. Compared to the convent in Cefalu where we went a week later if was rather run down. We felt that a bit of investment in this convent would go a long way. The bathroom was rather tired, (as was the plumbing obviously!). The location was brilliant, and on the whole it was a good experience.

	The nuns at the convent allowed us to park our car in their enclosed area for an additional 5 euro a day - a good deal considering we were in downtown Palermo. Also, we ended up with a very large room with one large comfortable double bed and two twin beds. Although sparsely furnished the room was comfortable and VERY clean.
