	We had a great check in experience. The woman who checked us in was so helpful and knowledgeable. This is a place with beautiful rooms, in a monastery that is just gorgeous both inside and out. There is an absolute sense of peace and serenity within the confines of this wonderfully maintained holy place. Mass is offered regularly. The roof deck provides an amazing view of the Vatican neighborhood, and breakfast was fantastic. We highly recommend staying here. Thank you for making our stay a pleasure.

	Staying with Casa Per Ferie San Emilia De Vialar was an incredible experience. We cannot recommend this place enough. It is a beautiful location, right next to the Vatican, with a private gate access, garden, and rooftop. The rooms are clean with A/C, Wi-Fi, private bathrooms, and lovely views. What more could you need? The staff is lovely and always helpful.

	We were very satisfied with the accommodation. Everything was very clean, beautiful garden with a charming view, the children were thrilled with the parrots in the palm trees. The place is easily accessible by public transport, which was important for us as I was there with two children aged 5 and 7. We usually walked down to the town and took the bus back – up the hill. We also make a trip to the sea, walking to San Pietro train station, via Rampa Aurelia. We have spent 3 nights there and would come back again, definitely.

	All of the sisters were very welcoming and gracious hosts. The sister who checked me in even made me a plate of food because I had gotten in so late that most everything nearby was closed. Because it’s on a hill, it could be a challenging hike coming from the Vatican for anyone who struggles with mobility issues, but there is a bus stop very close by. The flip side of that is the incredible view—especially of St. Peter’s Basilica at dawn and dusk. Breakfast is nothing major (e.g., cereal, some meat and cheese, crescents), but it’s nice to have a little something in the morning, and it’s included in the very reasonable price. The beds are pretty small, especially for someone on the taller side, and quite firm, but it’s not advertised as a luxury hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

	My wife and I loved it. The convent is situated about 20 minutes walk from St Peters and is set on a hill with fantastic views and lovely gardens. The nuns were really kind and very helpful. The rooms are basic but very clean provide en suite facilities. We will definitely visit here again!

It is in a very good location - close to the Vatican (can see St. Peter's dome from the property), beautiful gardens and an easy walk to restaurants. It is austere and my only warning is not to expect much from the breakfast as it is very, very simple. Not a problem for us as we were out the However, it was very, very clean and the sisters were extremely welcoming. A good value!

	We stayed a night at the convent and wished we had been able to stay longer -- we had an airbnb booked, and to be honest, the bathroom of the convent was nicer than the bathroom of the apartment we stayed at! The rooms are simply furnished but very clean-- it's a little puzzling reading some of the negative comments in the reviews who seem to have been expecting a 5-star hotel experience. I mean, it is a convent after all. The grounds/gardens are lovely and it was really nice waking up in the morning to the sounds of singing from mass. Some quick comments that may help make your stay proceed more smoothly: The sisters were friendly and welcoming and many of them spoke proficient/fluent English. The convent is located on a hill. This is both a good and bad thing—on one hand, it means that the convent has a beautiful view of St Peter’s Basilica and the surrounding area and you can see the mountains in the distance. On the other hand, it means that you are going to be walking up that hill if you take metro—(the closest stop is Valle Aurelia). It’s about a 15-20 minute walk and it’s not a leisurely stroll (especially if you have luggage)-- as others noted, the sidewalk is narrow, bumpy, and runs along a busy street). Would not recommend walking up that hill late at night without a flashlight from your phone. If you want to avoid this walk, there is a bus stop (for the 46 and 49 buses) that stops on the street outside the convent, which is a much more convenient option. If you’re coming back late at night (before curfew, of course), the gate to the convent will probably be closed. Walk to the left of the gate where there will be a door in the wall and press the small black button in the door (don’t press for too long because it makes a loud obnoxious sound at the convent) and the sisters will let you in. The door will close behind you automatically. Also, you can call their front office and ask where that button is, since there are cameras at the door. There is a bathroom for every two beds (if the room has two beds, then there is an en-suite bathroom attached.) There are shared hair-dryers available in the kitchenette area. Be sure to request a room with a view of St. Peter’s when you are booking the room through monasterystays! It doesn’t hurt to ask—I didn’t see many guests during our stay, so it seems that you will have a good chance of getting one of these rooms.

	The convent has simple, clean and spacious accommodation. The single beds are on the narrow side but we adjusted to the size after the first day. There is good wifi but you need to download tv or radio programmes if that is what you need (You tube and Google are accessible) It is a very peaceful and restful place. It has cool marble floors and good air conditioning. There is a lovely view over the city and the gardens are shaded. It was nice to have somewhere outside to sit. The staff are very helpful and helped up with any questions we had. If you don't always want to eat out there is a small kitchen with kettle and microwave. The lunch and evening meals at Casa Bonus Pastor across the road are very popular and should be tried at least once. There is also a small bar for an evening drink. Although the convent is near the Vatican you need to take a bus to get there as there is a lack of pavements. To get into the centre we used the 46 bus from outside the convent and the metro from Aurelia which is a 15 min walk, some of the walk is along a dual carriage way with little pavement. This route is okay for adults but not for families with pushchairs or buggies. The metro is easy to use but the bus goes nearer the historic centre and the Travestere area. The staff ordered taxis for us when we needed them. We ordered one to the airport for 35 euros. There is lots of information on the internet about how the metro and bus work in Rome. At the end of our 4 night say we had a great time in Rome and felt well looked after. Thank you.

	We found the Sisters very welcoming and friendly. Not all of them spoke English but we got through. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The room was very clean and the staff were obliging. A lovely peaceful place to base ourselves in while we visited Rome.

	I had a wonderful stay at Casa Per Ferie San Emilia de Vialar. It was close to the Vatican and to the two public buses that I always used daily, to take me to where I wished to go. These bus stops where walking distance from the Monastery. The sisters where such great help, I personally found that Sister Esther was the most helpful to me and she was the most attive to me. It was my first time travelling alone and due to the latter, on the first day I was very anxious and Sister Esther calmed me down. I arrived in Rome as a little bird learning how to fly and I left as a strong eagle, with strong wings and that knows how to fly on its own. Thank you for everything.

	The convent is a very special place to stay, so beautiful and peaceful with beautiful gardens and a fantastic view of St Peter's. The nuns are very helpful and friendly. The convent is on a 46 bus route to the Piazza Venezia but the buses come about every half hour and are slow due to traffic congestion so we found it quicker to use the Metro from Valle Aurelia. The Vatican is about a 20 minute walk. The Casa Bonus Pastor for dinner across the road is marvellous value and so friendly and convenient with homely food.

	My my what a beautiful place I stayed at in Rome. My stay at this place was really wonderful. I came from India after a very long journey and I received one of the most cordial welcome. Thanks to the sisters. Above all it is walking distance from St Peter's. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this convent and with these particular sisters. Breakfast was plentiful. If you are searching for a quiet and serene place in Rome don't make a mistake of going any where else. You will not regret your stay at this convent.

	An excellent location, if you are visiting the Vatican, an inexpensive taxi ride from other areas of the city. The sisters were very welcoming and gracious; very helpful with public transport and guide directions. Breakfast a little more substantial than typical Italian fare, a nice touch. It is a quiet residential area, there are no stores or restaurants nearby. Ask about dining across the street, Casa Bonus Pastor. We ate the evening meal there several times, very good with a good price. Be sure to request a room with a view of St. Peter's, never hurts to ask!

	If you're looking for a nice quiet place to stay in the middle of Rome, this is your place. Casa per Ferie is truly an oasis in the middle of a turbulent sea. The location is safe and well protected. Several staff members speak English. We started our day with an ample continental breakfast listening to the music from the daily mass. The rooms are simple but large and quite adequate and the beds are good. The view from our window overlooked St. Peters Basilica. There was a nice little garden in front, also overlooking the Vatican, with umbrellas, chairs and tables where we could relax on a warm evening after a long day of visiting the Eternal City. We truly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend it to anyone who is travelling to Rome.

	Its location, its gardens and pleasant, peaceful atmosphere are wonderful to rest. It's a very clean and safe facility, an oasis in the heart of Rome. The rooms are spacious, luminous, with hugely high ceilings and have air conditioning and private bathrooms. The front rooms have an outstanding view of the Vatican. The mattresses are a bit harder than usual but we didn't have a problem sleeping.
